Deorum: Our Personal Story

As I child I was fortunate enough to grow up surrounded by a family of painters, photographers, and fashion designers. Though my parents spent much of their time in academia, they made sure to immerse us in art, music, and literature. Looking back now, I realise how much of my creativity stems from that early environment.

 

In my early twenties, after working briefly with Melbourne's alternative designers Baba Jah, Dresden Workshop and Equinox, I found myself captivated by the beautiful fabrics in Loro Piana bunches at what has since become a Melbourne retail myth, Harrolds. 

 

I set out on a path over two decades, immersing myself in the world of sartorial tailoring and textiles, continually refining my technical methods and eventually attending the Ermenegildo Zegna Su Misura Academy in Switzerland. Throughout this period I was priviledged enough to forge lasting friendships with some of Melbourne’s most discerning and influential sartorialists. 

 

It was only natural that my journey would culminate in the creation of my own atelier—an intimate studio designed to serve the loyal clients who have accompanied me throughout my career.

 

Deorum Melbourne is an exclusive made-to-measure menswear destination nestled in the heart of Toorak. Established in 2024, our intimate showroom brings Italy's artisanal tailoring directly to Melbourne's sartorial community. By appointment only, we offer Su Misura programs from renowned Italian makers such as Luigi Borrelli, Raffaele Caruso and Xacus - each garment a reflection of exceptional craftsmanship and a truly personalized experience. 

 

Our approach is simple: we listen intently to our customer, we style with the attention and care we would expect ourselves, and we measure meticulously to ensure an outstanding fit. Our goal - a customer who returns to us season after season, as they have done for many years.
